DeBrusk didn’t record his first goal with Vancouver until his 10th game in a blue sweater. Since then, he’s scored six goals in his last 11 contests.

The Bruins played well in their third game under interim coach Joe Sacco. It might have been their best following Jim Montgomery’s dismissal. They pumped 32 pucks on Kevin Lankinen while limiting the Canucks to 14 shots. It was the most shots they’ve taken since Sacco’s takeover.

It was DeBrusk’s first game against Boston after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Bruins, who selected him with the No. 14 pick of the 2015 NHL Draft. The 28-year-old forward signed a seven-year contract with Vancouver as a free agent on July 1.
