CM Hemant Soren-led party emerged as the single largest in Jharkhand that secured 34 assembly seats. JMM chief is set for term 2 as the party steered the INDIA bloc to victory.

Ranchi: Four key ministers in the JMM-led Hemant Soren government faced crushing defeat in Jharkhand assembly polls despite a stellar performance by the coalition which retained power for the second consecutive term.

Saraikella, where Champai Soren won by a margin of 25,000 votes. The party lost two ST seats in Ranchi to JMM.

BJP fought the Jharkhand election in its trade-mark aggressive style by raising issues such as 'corruption' and 'Bangladeshi infiltration', but it seems they did not go well among voters, prompting the INDIA bloc to retain power in the state.
