The Pitt football team dropped its regular-season finale to end the year on a five-game losing streak as Boston College topped the Panthers 34-23.

The Boston College Eagles (7-5, 4-4 ACC) football team ended its regular season with a 34-23 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers (7-5, 3-5 ACC) on Saturday evening at Alumni Stadium. After turning the ball over on downs due to failing to convert on a 4th-and-1 on their first drive of the day,

The bowl-bound Eagles clinched their first seven-win regular season since 2018 with a 34-23 triumph over the Panthers.

Pitt leads the all-time series against BC 18–15. The Panthers won last year’s matchup at Acrisure Stadium by a final score of 24–16. The Panthers played a complete game in that matchup to pick up a solid home win.

Pittsburgh: RB Desmond Reid. The Western Carolina transfer has been a consistent bright spot during an inconsistent season by the Panthers. The 5-foot-8 Reid is ranked fifth nationally in all-purpose yards (150.9 per game) and has been the only skill position player who hasn’t regressed in conference play.

A week after Eli Holstein hurt his leg Nov. 23 early in the loss to Louisville, Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi will stick with relief quarterback Nate Yarnell on Saturday at Boston College. Yarnell will start Pitt’s final regular-season game.
