Trump gave roles to Charles Kushner and Massad Boulos, both of his daughters’ fathers in law. President-elect Donald Trump says he is nominating Charles Kushner, his son-in-law’s father, to be ambassador to France, marking a reversal of Kushner’s public standing after he served time in prison nearly two decades ago.

It’s not common for people to make the transition from prison to an ambassadorial position in Paris, but in the world of Trump, strange things happen.

Trump called Kushner, who pleaded guilty to 18 counts including tax evasion and witness tampering, “a tremendous business leader, philanthropist, & dealmaker."
