A Samajwadi Party delegation headed to violence-hit Sambhal was stopped and some members detained, with accusations of BJP suppressing their efforts.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP for blocking a delegation's visit to Sambhal after violence that killed four, calling it a governance failure.

A 15-member SP delegation was scheduled to visit Sambhal to gather information about the circumstances under which the violence that claimed four lives broke out.
