Storm Bert has transformed central and southern Scotland, under a blanket of snow. With some travel disruption, some children and dogs have been enjoying the cold weather.

The Scottish government has urged the public to heed a Met Office amber warning for heavy snow for parts of Scotland during Storm Bert.

At 5am on Saturday, a yellow wind warning comes into force as Storm Bert touches down in Scotland, bringing gusts of up to 70mph and causing disruption in places. Areas around the coast are forecast to be worst affected.
