SUNRISE, Fla. -- Carter Verhaeghe had a goal and two assists, and the Florida Panthers ended a four-game losing streak with a 5-1 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Amerant Bank Arena on Wednesday.

The Panthers beat the Maple Leafs 5-1 to snap an uncharacteristic four-game losing streak that obviously didn’t sit well with this proud team.

The Toronto Maple Leafs failed to solidify their spot atop the Atlantic Division on Wednesday, falling 5-1 to the rival Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena. Unfortunately, the game wasn't the only thing Craig Berube's team lost in the Sunshine State.

Aleksander Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe had power-play goals, Sam Reinhart had a short-handed score and the Florida Panthers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-1 for only their second win in eight games.
